Coding Certification
The Professional Medical Coding Curriculum has been created because of a growing need for coding information and education in the increasingly technical field of professional coding. It is recognized and is taught and accredited throughout the country in various Colleges and Universities. Class schedules will be updated periodically.
Medicare / Medicaid audits and insurance reimbursement policies have contributed to a growing awareness of the importance of accurate coding. With the increasing costs in fraud and abuse prevention and the decline in healthcare reimbursement by both federal and commercial carriers, correct coding knowledge is absolutely essential for practice and hospital survival.
A Certified Professional Coder and Instructor who is licensed with the Academy will teach this course. The lessons include medical terminology review, anatomy review, CPT, HCPC’s Level II and ICD-10 CM coding lab scenarios, to ensure knowledge in practical application. Students will receive a certificate of completion for approximately 80 contact hours, and CPC, COC (CPC-H) or CPC-P certification upon successful completion and passing of the National AAPC Certification Examination. This course also adequately prepares the student for the American Health Information Management Associations (AHIMA,"CCS-P" (Certified Coding Specialist-Professional" examination.
Class size is limited and filled on a first come basis.
